The suspect faces charges on several counts. He is notably suspected of having participated in fraudulent schemes, stolen motor vehicles and laundered illicit funds. These alleged offences are said to have been committed before his flight.
The operation benefited from collaborative channels between security forces of different states. The apprehension took place peacefully in the city in the north of the kingdom.
Competent authorities will now examine the modalities for handing over the suspect to the jurisdictions that are seeking him.
