Law enforcement officers from Sidi Bernoussi have taken into custody a man in his forties accused of fatally stabbing a shopkeeper he knew following a dispute.

Security agents in the Sidi Bernoussi area, in Morocco's economic capital, apprehended a 38-year-old individual on 28 June. He is suspected in a case of premeditated murder.
According to information gathered at the beginning of the investigation, a quarrel allegedly broke out between the alleged perpetrator and a shopkeeper with whom he maintained links. The verbal confrontation reportedly escalated into physical aggression, and the accused allegedly fatally struck his interlocutor with a sharp object. News of the incident quickly spread across online platforms, prompting numerous reactions.
Police officers conducted investigations which allowed them to quickly locate the fugitive. They captured him shortly after the incident, whilst he was heavily intoxicated.
The suspect has been remanded in custody and remains at the disposal of the judiciary. An investigative procedure has been opened under the authority of the public prosecutor to shed full light on the causes and details of this fatal assault.
