22 persons arrested after being found living irregularly in Malta during police inspections in Blata l-Bajda, Ħamrun, Marsa, Fgura and Rabat.

22 Persons Arrested in Police Operations in Malta
22 persons were arrested overnight after being found living irregularly in Malta during a series of inspections carried out by the police.
The arrests were made during operations in Blata l-Bajda, Ħamrun and Marsa, with further searches carried out at a number of private residences in Marsa, Ħamrun, Fgura and Rabat.
The inspections were conducted with the assistance of officers from the Detention Services Agency.
Those arrested are currently being held at the detention centre whilst the authorities continue the procedures necessary to return them to their country of origin or to another country where they have permission to reside.
In a statement, the authorities said that Malta continues to honour its obligations in this area whilst ensuring full respect for the laws of the country.
