44-year-old man charged after 35kg of cocaine found in his vehicle from Sicily
A 44-year-old Bosnian man appeared in court after authorities allegedly found around 35 kilogrammes of cocaine hidden in a vehicle that arrived in Malta from Sicily, valued at approximately €4.5 million.

A 44-year-old man from Bosnia and Herzegovina appeared in court after authorities allegedly found around 35 kilogrammes of suspected cocaine hidden inside a vehicle that arrived in Malta from Sicily.
The drugs are estimated to be worth approximately €4.5 million on the market.
According to the police, the man was stopped by Customs Officials as he was disembarking from the catamaran shortly after arriving from Sicily.
The officials became suspicious due to his behaviour and requested assistance from the police.
Following his arrest, the man was taken to the Police garage in Floriana, where further searches were conducted.
During the inspection, the authorities allegedly discovered a substantial quantity of suspected cocaine hidden inside a compartment located in the middle of the vehicle.
The drugs amounted to around 35 kilogrammes.
Magistrate Joseph Mifsud was informed of the case and ordered an inquiry.
The man was charged in court today before Magistrate Jean Paul Grech, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.
He was remanded in custody at the Corradino Correctional Facility whilst investigations continue.
