Two men seriously injured following incidents on Coast Road in Naxxar
Two men were seriously injured in traffic incidents on the Coast Road in Naxxar this morning.
Police were called to the scene around 7.15am after a Subaru Impreza driven by a 41-year-old man from Għaxaq hit a wall and came to a stop in the middle of the road. After traffic began to accumulate behind the vehicle, a 36-year-old man on a Suzuki motorcycle attempted to avoid the stationary vehicles but lost control and hit the incident barriers.
At the same location and around the same time, a chain collision occurred involving five vehicles: an Isuzu van, a Mazda 2, a Toyota Passo, a Toyota Vitz and a Porsche. The driver of the Toyota Vitz, a 29-year-old man from San Pawl il-Baħar, was also injured in the collision.
A medical team assisted at the scene before the two injured men were taken to Mater Dei hospital by ambulance, where they were certified to be suffering from serious injuries. The 41-year-old Subaru driver was not injured.
Police investigations are ongoing.
