22 kg of marijuana found in Bytom flat – 29-year-old remanded in custody for two months
Police in Bytom arrested a 29-year-old man with over 22 kg of marijuana and amphetamine. A court ordered him remanded in custody for two months.

According to silesia.info.pl, criminal investigators from Police Commissariat V in Bytom arrested a 29-year-old resident of the city, in whose flat police found over 22 kilogrammes of marijuana and dozens of grammes of amphetamine.
Officers had identified the flat following earlier operational findings indicating that significant quantities of drugs were being stored there. Upon entering the premises, they discovered hermetically sealed bags containing plant material, which initial tests confirmed as marijuana.
According to investigators, the arrested man had brought the drugs from the Netherlands to Poland. The gathered evidence allowed prosecutors to charge him with possession of a significant quantity of drugs and their smuggling from abroad.
On Thursday, 4 June, Bytom district court granted the motion by prosecutors and ordered the 29-year-old remanded in custody for two months. He faces a sentence of up to 20 years imprisonment for cross-border smuggling of a significant quantity of drugs.
