Detention at the Constitutional Court
Police detained a 30-year-old man in front of the Constitutional Court in Warsaw. According to wiadomosci.wp.pl, the incident took place around 11:00 at Aleja Szucha. The man allegedly struck one of the assembly organisers and attempted to flee the scene.
As reported by the Warsaw Metropolitan Police Command, the organiser drew the man's attention to a balaclava covering his face and asked him to remove it. When he refused, he struck the woman and began to run. Assembly participants attempted to detain him, but he broke free and continued fleeing.
Officers securing the assembly quickly detained him. During the intervention, police found dangerous items on the detainee: a knife, a gas pistol firing pellets, a badge with "Security" written on it that resembled a police identification in shape, and narcotics. The 30-year-old was taken to a police unit where officers are conducting questioning with him.
Details regarding the man's identity and any charges brought against him have not been disclosed. Anna Gembicka, a Law and Justice parliamentarian who was near the assembly, described the detention moment in conversation with Polsat News. She confirmed that assembly organisers were concerned with security, insisting on participants' faces being uncovered, and that she saw the knife taken from the man by the gathered people.
