CDobleta sentenced to 45 years in prison for murder of sergeant and drug trafficking

Urban music artist Luis N. Isaac Sánchez, known artistically as "CDobleta", was sentenced to 45 years in prison and 10 years supervised release for his involvement in the murder of Police Sergeant Eliezer Ramos Vélez and charges related to drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms, elnuevodia.com reported.

The sentence was imposed by Federal District Judge María Antongiorgi Jordán in San Juan. Héctor Ramírez Carbó, interim chief of the Federal Prosecutors' Office, confirmed the sentence on Thursday.

Isaac Sánchez—also identified as "Chimbo" or "Dobleta"—had changed his plea to guilty on 10 June 2026 after reaching an agreement with the Federal Prosecutors' Office.

"The accused orchestrated a ruthless shooting attack and executed a man who dedicated his life to service and protecting others. It is to be hoped that Sergeant Ramos Vélez's family can begin to heal after such an unimaginable and painful loss," Ramírez Carbó said in written remarks.

The prosecutor added that the Federal Prosecutors' Office would maintain "its firm commitment to holding gang members accountable and restoring safety to communities terrorised by the violence of these organisations".

Federal charges accepted

Isaac Sánchez admitted his responsibility in a drug trafficking conspiracy in violation of Title 21 of the United States Code, sections 841(a)(1), 846 and 860. The indictment details that those involved agreed to distribute and possess with intent to distribute heroin, cocaine, crack, marijuana and other drugs in various public housing complexes, including Sabana Abajo, Luis Llorens Torres, Los Mirtos, Lagos de Blasina, La Esmeralda, El Coral and Jardines de Monte Hatillo, as well as in adjacent areas.

Additionally, the rapper pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm in connection with drug trafficking activities, in violation of Title 18 of the United States Code, section 924(c). The artist is also listed as a person of interest in the murder of a police officer in Carolina.
