Two armed robbers invaded a supermarket on Travessa Guilherme Kjolner, in Amora, municipality of Seixal, during Sunday morning. The crime occurred shortly after 10:30 a.m., when the individuals entered the establishment and intimidated those present with a firearm.

A 70-year-old woman, who was shopping inside the premises, suddenly became unwell, experiencing breathing difficulties. Emergency teams provided assistance at the scene and transported her by ambulance to Hospital Garcia de Orta, in Almada.

Staff responded quickly to the incident, locking the establishment's doors as soon as the criminals left the premises, a measure to protect those inside and preserve the crime scene.

The robbers managed to escape before the arrival of the authorities. The alert was raised at 10:32 a.m., mobilising agents from the Judicial Police, PSP forces, military personnel from the GNR, and firefighters from the Mixed Fire Brigade of Seixal.

Investigators from the Judicial Police remained at the supermarket until approximately 12:00 p.m., collecting evidence and coordinating the investigation. The establishment remained closed to the public throughout this period.

Security forces continue to search for those responsible for the robbery. There were no reports of shots fired or injuries resulting from the use of the firearm.
