The human remains of a male individual were found on Monday in an area covered with vegetation in Escapães, a municipality in Santa Maria da Feira. The body was in an advanced state of decomposition when it was located.
The case has been handed over to the jurisdiction of the Judicial Police, which is now investigating the circumstances surrounding the death and the identity of the victim. No details have been released so far regarding the age, cause of death or how long the body may have been at the location.
Escapães is a locality located within the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira, in Aveiro district. The discovery occurred on difficult-to-access terrain, surrounded by scrub.
