Two men assaulted at Benavente festival; GNR seeks group of attackers
A group of individuals violently assaulted two men during the Benavente Festival in the early hours of Saturday. The incident occurred around six in the morning at the Festa da Amizade venue, in that settlement in Santarém district.
The two victims, aged around 30 years, were assisted at the scene by members of Benavente Volunteer Fire Brigade. Subsequently, they were taken to Hospital de Vila Franca de Xira, having been assessed as sustaining minor injuries.
The attack was captured on amateur video, which shows the attackers fleeing the scene in the vehicle they were travelling in. The GNR confirmed to Correio da Manhã that it is conducting investigations to identify and locate those responsible for the crime.
The military authorities are continuing the investigation with the aim of clarifying the circumstances of the case and apprehending those involved.
