Two robbers detained in Amadora during assault on association released on bail
Agents from Amadora PSP captured two individuals, aged 32 and 51, at the moment they were robbing a recreational association in the Águas Livres parish. The authorities were alerted through a telephone call reporting the ongoing crime.
Teams were dispatched promptly to the targeted location. One of the robbers remained outside acting as lookout, ready to warn his accomplice who was inside taking objects, if he saw police forces approaching.
When the second man became aware of the police presence, he climbed over a metal grille that demarcated the perimeter of the building in an attempt to escape. Faced with the imminence of being caught, he wielded a bladed weapon against the agents, continuing his flight.
A foot pursuit crossed several streets in the vicinity of Bairro Alto Cova da Moura, culminating in the capture and immobilisation of the fugitive. Inside the premises where the second individual was hiding, officers found articles valued at approximately 300 euros.
Brought before the judicial interrogation at the Court of the District of Lisbon West, based in Amadora, both men were given the lightest measures of coercion: Identification and Residence Bond.
