Fugitive wanted for two attempted murders caught in drug operation in Guimarães
An individual who had been evading judicial authorities for approximately two years because of two attempted murders was finally captured in Guimarães. The detention occurred during a GNR operation in the Gondar neighbourhood, aimed at dismantling drug-selling networks.
The operation also resulted in the preventive detention of a second person and the imposition of daily police station check-ins for two other people. The man who was a fugitive, however, was released with the obligation to appear before court three times a week.
The situation provoked a negative reaction from neighbourhood residents, who expressed indignation at the suspect's return to the area "as if nothing had happened".
