A criminal group that selected victims through advertisements posted on OLX was dismantled by the Judicial Police (PJ) as part of Operation 'Balaclava'. The organisation is suspected of having robbed nine homes over the course of just over a year.

The gang members impersonated inspectors from the Judicial Police itself to gain the trust of the victims. Using this method, they managed to steal substantial sums from the people they approached.

The PJ's investigation culminated in the dismantling of the network, which used the classified advertisements platform to identify potential targets. After contacting the advertisers, the criminals proceeded with the scheme of impersonating law enforcement agents, which allowed them to carry out the robberies.
