GNR seizes 500 doses of cocaine and heroin in Sines and detains 47-year-old suspect
The GNR detained a 47-year-old man and seized 500 drug doses in the municipality of Sines, as part of a drug trafficking operation.

GNR operation in Sines results in detention and seizure of drugs and money
A 47-year-old man was detained by the GNR on Thursday in a rural area of the municipality of Sines, in the district of Setúbal, following an operation to combat drug trafficking. Correio da Manhã reports that the seizure totalled 500 doses of narcotics, including cocaine and heroin.
The detention was carried out by officers from the Criminal Investigation Unit (NIC) of the Santiago do Cacém Territorial Detachment, following an operation targeting an area identified by a high influx of drug users, according to the Setúbal Territorial Command of the GNR.
The detainee "displayed suspicious behaviour" in the presence of the officers, who proceeded to conduct a personal security search. It was at that moment that narcotics and cash were found in his possession.
Of the 500 drug doses seized, 368 were cocaine and 132 were heroin. In addition, 855 euros in cash and two mobile phones were collected.
The man was presented on Friday to the Judicial Court of Setúbal for his initial judicial questioning and for the application of the precautionary measures deemed appropriate.
