The GNR in Pinhal Novo, in the municipality of Palmela, seized an extensive collection of weapons from the residence of a man suspected of domestic violence, reports Correio da Manhã. The detainee was constituted as a suspect for the crimes of domestic violence and illegal possession of weapons.
The intervention took place on a Monday, after the victim had filed a complaint with the patrol unit. The woman told the military personnel that she was being threatened by her partner and described aggressive behaviour on his part.
Based on the victim's statements, the military personnel obtained a judicial search warrant and proceeded to search the suspect's home. Inside the house, a revolver, two pistols, two shotguns, an air pressure weapon, two telescopic batons and various ammunition were seized.
