A 44-year-old man was detained in Oliveira de Azeméis by the GNR for possession of a prohibited weapon. In the suspect's vehicle, a .22 calibre carbine with silencer, an airsoft replica, a sickle, ammunition and gas canisters were seized.

A 44-year-old individual was detained in the municipality of Oliveira de Azeméis, district of Aveiro, on suspicion of the crime of possession of a prohibited weapon. The arrest was carried out on 20 June by elements of the local Territorial Post, which falls under the Territorial Command of Aveiro of the GNR, as reported by Central Press.
The operation originated from a complaint that alerted authorities to a citizen causing disturbances on the street. Officers proceeded to the stated location and found the presumed perpetrator.
In the course of the operation, several searches were carried out which led to the discovery and collection of various objects inside the detainee's vehicle. Among the confiscated material was a .22 calibre carbine, which had a magazine and silencer attached, a replica firearm of the airsoft type, a sickle, nineteen .22 calibre projectiles, a bottle of nitrous oxide and four CO2 bottles.
The man was made a defendant and the case was forwarded to the Judicial Court of the locality.
