Group of six people identified after assault and gun threats in Lisbon
Six individuals, men and women, were identified by the Criminal Investigation Division of the PSP in the capital after causing disturbances at a café in Nations Park during Saturday night. They assaulted and intimidated employees of a food and beverage establishment in that area of Lisbon with a pistol.
Those involved reside in the Alfredo Bensaúde social housing neighbourhood in the Olivais district. The identification was possible through the collection of images from public and private security cameras in the area, audiovisual records shared on digital platforms and testimony gathered from those who witnessed the events, according to Correio da Manhã.
The same publication reports that one of the male individuals was already known to the authorities for a previous case involving firearms.
The inquiry is being conducted under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor's Office. The security force may request the detention of the presumed perpetrators once adequate evidential grounds exist. Among the offences in question are threats, illegal possession of a weapon and bodily injury.
