The Judicial Police (PJ) arrested a 24-year-old man in Lagoa on Thursday, strongly suspected of committing several child sexual abuse material offences, according to rr.pt.
According to a PJ statement, the arrest was made by the Criminal Investigation Department of Portimão. The investigation established that the suspect repeatedly accessed, possessed and shared child sexual abuse material in digital form, dating back to at least 2023.
The arrested man will be brought before a judge for his first court interrogation for the application of appropriate preventive measures. The inquiry is being directed by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Portimão.
