51-year-old man arrested at Lisbon airport for theft of five vehicles valued at 300,000 euros

Man arrested at Lisbon airport under European arrest warrant
The PSP arrested a 51-year-old man on Monday at Humberto Delgado airport in Lisbon, under a European arrest warrant issued by an unidentified Member State of the European Union. According to Correio da Manhã, the suspect is wanted for aggravated theft of five new vehicles with an estimated total value of around 300,000 euros.
The detainee, described by the Public Security Police as "a citizen of the European Union", is suspected of having acted in collusion with two other individuals. The group allegedly gained unauthorised access to the premises of a company and took five new vehicles stored there.
The offence in question is punishable by a prison sentence of up to ten years, according to a statement released by the PSP. The judicial authority that issued the warrant was not specified by Portuguese authorities.
The man is to be brought before the Lisbon Court of Appeal.
