A 47-year-old man was intercepted in Albufeira during a routine GNR operation. He was wanted on an arrest warrant for driving whilst intoxicated and without a licence. A woman was travelling in the vehicle and was also detained.

During a routine policing operation on Friday in Albufeira, GNR officers stopped a vehicle with two occupants. The driver, a 47-year-old man, was wanted under an arrest warrant to serve 22 months of custodial imprisonment for various serious road traffic offences, including driving whilst intoxicated and without a valid licence.
The passenger, a 42-year-old woman, was also detained. Officers discovered illicit substances during a search of the woman. A subsequent search of her residence led to the seizure of 150 doses of cocaine, several mobile phones, three sabre-type bladed weapons, precision scales, packaging materials and €2,760 in cash.
The man was remanded to Silves Prison Establishment to begin serving his sentence. The woman was taken to the DIAP in Silves for a decision on enforcement measures.
