A 57-year-old man was arrested in flagrante delicto in Lousada for psychological and verbal violence against his wife. He was made subject to a Term of Identity and Residence following court questioning.

Arrested in flagrante delicto in Porto district

Correio da Manhã reports that a 57-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday, in flagrante delicto, in Lousada, in Porto district, suspected of inflicting psychological and verbal violence against his 54-year-old wife.

The arrest was carried out by GNR (Guarda Nacional Republicana) officers following a report received by the authorities. On site, the officers established that the suspect had inflicted psychological and verbal violence upon the victim.

According to a GNR statement, the man adopted aggressive behaviour towards the officers at the moment of intervention and resisted police action, which resulted in a second charge.

After being brought before court questioning on Wednesday, the suspect was made subject to a Term of Identity and Residence. The man is facing charges of domestic violence and resistance and coercion of a public official.
