A 50-year-old man was arrested on 24 in the municipality of Paços de Ferreira for attempting to bribe GNR officers with €1,300 in cash, following a road traffic control operation.
According to reporting by Correio da Manhã, GNR officers approached the driver of a vehicle who refused to take a breath-alcohol test. During the approach, the suspect attempted to bribe the officers with a sum of money, which was immediately seized.
The man was arrested and made a defendant in proceedings for the offences of active corruption and disobedience. The facts were subsequently reported to the Judicial Court of Paços de Ferreira.
