A 34-year-old British man killed his partner, of the same nationality and age, with scissors at a hotel in Olhos de Água, Albufeira, according to reports by Correio da Manhã. The couple's 4-year-old daughter is believed to have witnessed the entire tragedy.
The argument began inside the room where the couple and child were staying. The exchange of words escalated rapidly into a scene of violence, leading the man to grab scissors and strike his partner several times.
The woman managed to leave the room in search of help, but was caught by the suspect in the corridor on the second floor of the hotel building. It was at that location that the attacker struck further blows, injuries that ultimately caused the victim's death.
The suspect remained at the scene after the crime and was detained by the GNR.
