17-year-old robs mobile phone with knife in Lisbon and released
An adolescent with a criminal record assaulted a victim with a knife in Lisbon and was detained by police ten days after the crime.

A 17-year-old was detained by the PSP for robbing a mobile phone valued at 1,100 euros from a victim whilst threatening them with a knife in Lisbon. According to reporting by Correio da Manhã, the crime occurred on 16 August and the suspect was identified and detained ten days later by the Criminal Investigation Division in the Penha de França parish.
Despite his criminal record and being flagged for committing this type of crime, the young man was released after being presented to court. The judicial authority imposed only the measure of a pledge of identity and residence.
"The detainee, despite his young age, already with several criminal records and flagged for committing this type of crime, was presented to the Judicial Authority for the purposes of the first Judicial Interrogation, having been maintained with the measure of a pledge of identity and residence," the PSP stated in a press release.
