A 24-year-old man was arrested by the GNR in Penafiel, following a drug trafficking enforcement operation.
24-year-old man arrested in Penafiel for drug trafficking
An individual aged 24 years old was apprehended by the National Republican Guard (GNR) in the locality of Penafiel, in the district of Porto. The arrest took place during an operation by the security force aimed at combating the illegal trade in psychotropic substances.
The military officers surprised the young man whilst he was engaged in activities related to the narcotics business. In the course of the intervention, the authorities collected various illicit materials and objects linked to the crime.
Among the articles seized were 260 portions of hashish, 15 doses of cannabis, two packages containing seeds of the same plant, a kitchen knife containing residues of narcotic substance, four containers used for weighing and storing drugs, several plastic bags with hermetic seals, a mobile telephone and a sum of 2,800 euros in cash.
The detainee was constituted as an arguido and the case was sent for assessment by the Judicial Court of Penafiel. The operation was conducted by the Porto Territorial Command of the GNR, as part of its actions to suppress drug trafficking.
