A 24-year-old man held on suspicion of drug trafficking in Aveiro has been remanded in custody, the GNR announced on Thursday. According to observador.pt, the defendant was brought before a judge for his first judicial interrogation following his arrest, which occurred on Monday.
At the time of his arrest, the GNR seized over 7,600 cannabis resin doses, 5,790 euros in cash, two precision scales and packaging material from him.
As part of the operation, officers conducted a personal search, a house search and a vehicle search.
In a statement, the GNR emphasised that it maintains "constantly, its criminal investigation capabilities focused on combating drug trafficking, namely in the activity of direct sales to consumers which, through their addiction, facilitates other types of criminality as a source of financing".
