Young man arrested in Lagoa for child sexual abuse material offences
A 24-year-old man was arrested in Lagoa, in the district of Faro, on suspicion of offences related to child sexual abuse material. The arrest was carried out by the Judicial Police in Portimão.
According to Correio da Manhã, the national authorities received an alert of international scope about the suspect's unlawful activity. Following this, investigators proceeded with inquiries that made it possible to identify the individual.
The findings indicate that, since 2023, the arrested man accessed child sexual abuse material, stored that content and subsequently shared it through digital means.
The case is being investigated under the direction of the Public Ministry in Portimão. The suspect will be brought before the court for his first judicial interrogation, where measures of restraint to be applied will be decided.
