Man arrested for attempted double homicide with box cutter in Barreiro
A 25-year-old man has been located and arrested by the Judicial Police, suspected of having violently assaulted two individuals at a café in Barreiro.
The facts date back to the night of 16 June. The attacker is believed to have used a box cutter to attack the two victims, aged 28 and 21, whilst they were watching the broadcast of a football match at a café in the area.
One of the two men attacked was struck in the neck area. The injuries caused placed his life at risk. Judicial Police investigations suggest that the violent outcome had its origin in disagreements of little importance.
The arrested man was brought before a judge for his first judicial interrogation. He ended up being subject to the most severe coercive measure: preventive detention.
The investigation is being handled by the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action (DIAP) in Barreiro.
