A 31-year-old individual was apprehended by PSP in the Misericórdia neighbourhood of Lisbon whilst attempting to escape by jumping from a balcony located on the first floor of a building he had just burgled. The incident occurred at 10:30 on 21 June.

Residents alerted authorities to the break-in at a dwelling in that area of the capital. When officers arrived, they found the entrance door to an apartment forced open. The burglar, upon realising the police presence, abandoned a rucksack and threw himself from the balcony to flee.

The security forces managed to restrain him. In the bag he left behind, 11 laptops and headphones were found, later returned to the owner. At the time of apprehension, the man was also carrying four mobile phones and a bunch of keys.

The court ordered preventive detention for the detainee.
