Woman accused of beating nanny to death in Amadora over jealousy

The Public Prosecutor's Office has concluded the formal accusation against Ilderlane Ferreira, 42, for the death of Lucinete Freitas, 55, nanny of the defendant's baby son, which occurred in December of last year in Amadora. According to Correio da Manhã, which had access to the accusation, the crime is believed to have been motivated by the perpetrator's jealousy towards the victim.
Ilderlane Ferreira is facing charges of aggravated homicide, desecration of a corpse, computer fraud and possession of a prohibited weapon. According to the investigation, Lucinete was lured to a desolate area in the vicinity of the Santa Filomena neighbourhood, where she was attacked with a 25-kilogramme cement block. An autopsy confirmed multiple blows that caused the nanny's death.
The accusation identifies the conflictual relationship between the two women as the primary motive for the crime. Ilderlane Ferreira will await trial in preventive custody. Her lawyer, Pedro Pestana, requested that a psychiatric evaluation be conducted on the defendant, a measure that the Public Prosecutor's Office accepted. The defendant was recently heard by prosecutors in the context of this case.
Lucinete Freitas's husband and teenage son reside in Brazil and are requesting that justice be done.
