Woman arrested in Lisbon with large quantity of hashish destined for Guinea-Bissau
A 28-year-old woman from Guinea-Bissau was intercepted at Lisbon airport when she attempted to carry 15 kilograms of hashish in her travel luggage. The illicit cargo was destined for the African country. The arrest occurred last Saturday.
The detainee was brought to court for an initial interrogation, where she was subjected to the most serious coercive measure: preventive custody. The seized substance would have been capable of producing approximately 31,000 individual doses.
The operation is part of a process conducted by the 1st Section of the Lisbon Public Prosecution Office (DIAP), with the aim of preventing and punishing the entry, passage and exit of narcotics from Portuguese territory.
Investigative proceedings are ongoing in order to clarify all details of this drug trafficking operation.
