A worker at Leiria Shopping was struck by a man with whom she had an emotional relationship. The attacker was arrested hours later in the Lisbon area.

On Thursday afternoon, a member of staff was attacked inside the covered car park of Leiria Shopping. The incident occurred at 1.15 p.m.
The victim, who was carrying out her professional duties in that space, was surprised by an individual with whom she shared an emotional relationship. The woman resisted, which resulted in injuries to her scapula and one of her upper limbs.
After committing the assault, the man quickly left the scene. Hours later, he was arrested by PSP officers in the Lisbon region.
The victim received assistance at the scene before being taken to hospital units in the city. PSP investigators have already seized the vehicle driven by the detainee and are continuing their work to clarify the circumstances of what occurred.
