The Judicial Police of the Centre region arrested a 38-year-old man in Figueira da Foz on suspicion of raping his 11-year-old stepdaughter.

A 38-year-old man of foreign nationality was placed under arrest by the Judicial Police of the Centre region in Figueira da Foz on suspicion of sexually abusing his stepdaughter, a child aged 11 years. The acts are believed to have occurred in a domestic environment.
The discovery of the case came from the victim herself, who reported the facts at school on 12 June. Following this, the PJ opened an investigation and obtained an arrest warrant from the Public Prosecutor's Office of Coimbra.
The arrest took place on Thursday. On Friday, the defendant appeared before the judge for his first interrogation. He was subjected to several conditions of behaviour: reporting to the authorities three times per week, not leaving national territory, maintaining distance from the victim and other children, and not approaching the child's school.
