The Judicial Police launched a series of residential searches on Thursday targeting supporters of a Palestinian solidarity organisation. The operation was conducted by the National Counter-Terrorism Unit and is part of a criminal case by the Public Prosecutor's Office (DIAP) in Almada.
The targets of the searches are suspected of belonging to a criminal network, as well as committing offences related to public incitement to criminal activity, glorification of punishable acts, qualified damage to property, and insult to collective entities.
Due to procedural confidentiality, the police force did not disclose additional information about the case.
The organisation itself issued a statement confirming the proceedings, stating that authority agents had visited several homes alleging the residents' links to campaigns in support of the Palestinian people.
According to the group's account, the searches lasted several hours, with police officers seizing personal items and transporting some of those involved to PJ headquarters. The organisation described the measure as predictable, framing it within a broader pattern of state repression against anti-Zionist movements on the European continent, with particular intensification since October 2023.
