Spanish police officer stabbed in robbery on Alameda de Aveiro
A Spanish police officer on holiday in Portugal was robbed and wounded with a knife in Aveiro. The two suspects fled and have not yet been identified.
Spanish officer attacked with knife during robbery in Aveiro
A police officer of Spanish nationality was robbed and wounded with a knife on Alameda Silva Rocha, in Aveiro, on the morning of this Wednesday, according to Correio da Manhã.
The alert was given at 10h35. The victim, who was on holiday in Portugal, was approached by two armed men wielding a knife.
The officer attempted to resist and pursued the two robbers when they fled. The pursuit resulted in additional injuries, in addition to the cuts caused by the knife, according to an official PSP source.
Among the stolen items was the victim's police professional wallet, which was later recovered.
The officer required hospital assistance and was taken to Centro Hospitalar do Baixo Vouga.
The PSP attended the scene and took charge of the incident. The two suspects had not been identified at the time.
