PSP Azores detains suspect of domestic violence and more than ten people in São Miguel

Google News PT — Crime (pt) reports that the PSP in Ponta Delgada detained a 55-year-old man suspected of domestic violence against his spouse, in a comprehensive policing operation carried out between 21 and 26 August across various municipalities in São Miguel and Santa Maria.
In Ribeira Grande, a detention warrant was executed against a person sentenced to serve five years and six months of effective prison time for the same type of crime.
Also in Ponta Delgada, two people — aged 29 and 66 — were detained in separate incidents, both charged on suspicion of possession of prohibited weapons.
In the municipality of Povoação, a 55-year-old person was intercepted with four cannabis plants, 15 doses of cannabis and more than 35 grams of cannabis seeds, being detained on suspicion of drug trafficking.
The PSP further reports that nine people were detained across various municipalities on both islands for driving under the influence of alcohol or driving without legal authorisation.
During the same period, 81 traffic accidents were recorded, which resulted in seven injured.
