Four establishments in the tourism sector in Lisbon neighbourhoods were the target of an inspection operation by the PSP, with support from the Tax Authority and the Social Security Institute. The action took place on Friday between 14:00 and 18:00 in the parishes of Arroios and Santa Maria Maior, following complaints from foreigners who paid for services to obtain documents that proved to be fraudulent or illegal, according to a report by Correio da Manhã.

The authorities detected one crime and recorded several less serious offences. Among the irregularities found were copyright violations, lack of safety conditions in the spaces, breach of labour legislation and tax and customs irregularities.

More than twenty administrative violation notices were issued. Four cases stood out for non-issuance of invoices and one for irregularly issued invoices. Other offences included failure to communicate with the official travel agency register, absence of notification of employee admission, failure to terminate contracts and non-payment of wages.

Additionally, eight infractions were identified for lack of warning about the prohibition of alcohol sales to minors, three for incorrectly installed fire extinguishers and one for tobacco without valid stamps, with 86 packets being seized. The operation also resulted in the seizure of seven articles suspected of counterfeiting and the detection of the absence of a complaints book.
