On Friday night and Saturday early morning, GNR forces carried out a large-scale operation in Alijó municipality, in Vila Real district, which resulted in the arrest of several people linked to the illegal drug business.
The operation mobilised personnel who acted in several settlements in the area, namely Alijó, Favaios, Presandães and Vilarinho de Cotas. According to an official source at GNR Vila Real, the arrests made exceed the number initially disclosed, although the exact quantity was not revealed. Further details are expected to be made public at the start of next week.
The individuals captured will be brought before a judge, who will decide on the restrictions to liberty to be applied in each case.
