Liberal leader Paulo Trezentos, who holds the position of vice-president of the Liberal Initiative, was detained in the city of Santarém during Wednesday. The detention followed a traffic incident.
In response to the accident, authorities requested that an alcohol test be carried out, which the politician refused to do. During the episode, he allegedly made offensive and threatening remarks directed at the officers present, according to information gathered by RTP.
Trezentos was taken to the police station and remained in detention. Subsequently, he will be summoned to appear before the court in that locality.
