Man sentenced to 18 years for human trafficking of minors arrested in Bucharest after 4 years on the run

A 39-year-old man, placed under international wanted status beginning 3 November 2021, was located on Tuesday by police in an apartment in Bucharest, according to rador.ro.
The Bucharest Police announced, in a press statement, that officers from the Criminal Investigation Service established the address where the man was located and intervened to detain him.
Bucharest Court had issued an arrest warrant in his name for the execution of a prison sentence. The court had sentenced him to 18 years and four months in detention for committing the offences of human trafficking of minors in continuous form, trafficking in persons and formation of an organised criminal group.
The man was immobilised at the scene and taken to the police headquarters for the execution of the warrant. He is to be admitted to a penitentiary in the capital.
