A 31-year-old man from Cluj County has been remanded in custody on an outrage charge after assaulting two police officers during an intervention at his home, according to libertatea.ro.
Police officers were called to the municipality of Dej on Sunday by a woman who reported that her son was causing a disturbance at home. Upon arrival, they found the man behaving violently under the influence of alcohol.
Attempts to calm him down were met with insults and threats, which led the officers to proceed with restraining and handcuffing him.
"While being taken to the police vehicle, the man became agitated and continued to address insults and threats to the police officers, hitting one of the officers with his head in the face area and the other police officer with his foot," Cluj Police representatives reported.
The man was involuntarily admitted to Psychiatry, and on Monday Dej District Court issued a preventive arrest warrant in his name.
