38-year-old man detained after selling cocaine in Mamaia
A 38-year-old man was apprehended by law enforcement whilst trafficking prohibited substances in the Mamaia resort. He is suspected of repeatedly distributing high-risk drugs.
According to Radio Constanța, officers from the Organised Crime Combating Brigade in Constanța, alongside prosecutors from DIICOT – Constanța Territorial Office, monitored and documented the suspect's activities.
The apprehension took place on 16 June 2026, in the seaside resort, where the man was at the moment of the exchange. Investigators claim that he had approximately one kilogramme of cocaine on him. Based on evidence gathered in the case file, it emerged that previously, during May 2026, the same individual had allegedly possessed and offered free of charge, also in the Constanța county area, another quantity of the same substance, divided into several small packets.
On the same day of 16 June, law enforcement officers conducted three authorised raids, two in Cluj county and one in Constanța county. On this occasion, various pieces of evidence were seized. DIICOT prosecutors ordered the measure of detention for the suspect.
The following day, on 17 June 2026, the proposal for preventive arrest for 30 days was submitted to the court. The case is being handled by magistrates specialised in organised crime offences.
The operation was also attended by police officers from the Organised Crime Combating Brigade Cluj-Napoca, as well as gendarmes from the mobile structures of the two counties. Constanța County Police Inspectorate clarifies that every person under investigation benefits from the presumption of innocence and the procedural guarantees provided by law.
