Judges in Argeș have decided on the provisional detention of a 24-year-old man accused of serious offences against children. The man is suspected of contacting a minor of only seven years old through the internet and repeatedly sending her sexually explicit content.
According to investigators, the suspect did not limit himself to sending obscene material, but is also said to have requested such images from the victim. The investigation is coordinated by prosecutors and police officers from the territorial structures of the county, under two counts of accusation: sexual corruption of minors and child pornography.
The decision to place him in detention was taken to prevent any attempts by the accused to evade judicial authorities or to influence the progress of the investigation. Authorities have not provided further details about how the crime was discovered or about the identity of the suspect.
