An individual from the city of Victoria, Brașov county, is in custody for the next 30 days, accused of flouting a protection order issued by the court in Făgăraș and going to the home of his former girlfriend.

According to information transmitted by the Brașov County Police Inspectorate and picked up by Bună Ziua Făgăraș, a patrol from Victoria City Police was alerted on 19 June, around 23:00. A woman called 112 and reported that her former partner had come to her door, despite a court ruling that forbade him to do so.

Investigators established that, at the moment when the woman was at her sister's house, the former partner appeared there, and then later went to the residence of the injured party. Through these actions, the accused breached the conditions imposed by the protection order, which required him to maintain at least 25 metres distance from the victim and her home.

Having sufficient evidence, police officers detained the suspect for 24 hours and took him to the Remand and Preventive Custody Centre of Brașov IPJ. The following day, on 20 June, the prosecutor on duty from Făgăraș Court Prosecutor's Office presented the man to the judge, who decided to place him in preventive custody for one month.

The case remains open for the offence of failure to respect the protection order, and once investigations are completed legal measures will be taken.
