A 31-year-old man has been placed in preventive custody for 30 days, accused of making death threats against law enforcement and causing damage to the police station building and a service vehicle.

A 31-year-old individual is behind bars, held in preventive custody for one month, following violent behaviour displayed at the police station in Sulina.
It all started on the night of 22 June 2026, when a call to the emergency number 112 reported a conflict in a local establishment in the city. Officers responded immediately and identified the parties involved, transporting them to the station for statements.
There, one of the suspects – the 31-year-old, visibly affected by alcohol – lost his composure. He began shouting, insulting and threatening to kill the officers, as well as their relatives. He did not stop there: he smashed several items inside the building and damaged a service vehicle belonging to the institution.
Based on the evidence gathered, prosecutors opened a criminal case for outrage and destruction, offences provided for by the Penal Code. The man initially spent 24 hours in custody, and on 24 June the judge of rights and freedoms at Tulcea District Court decided to extend the preventive measure to 30 days.
The investigation is supervised by the Office of the Prosecutor attached to Tulcea District Court.
