A young couple from Sibiu County has been imprisoned following final convictions for the sale of controlled and high-risk drugs.

Officers from the Criminal Investigations Service of the Sibiu County Police Inspectorate apprehended a young couple from the area on 23 June. Both had final convictions on record for the sale of psychoactive substances.
Magistrates at the Sibiu Court issued detention orders for the two on the same day. The man, aged 28, received a 4-year prison sentence, whilst his partner, aged 26, was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
Once arrested, the two were taken to Aiud Penitentiary, where they will serve the periods determined by the judges.
Representatives of the Sibiu County Police Inspectorate stated that the operation is part of a series of actions designed to enforce the final court decisions and to halt the circulation of drugs within the county.
