A criminal investigation underway in Timiș County targets two police officers from Ciacova and a dental surgeon, suspected of unauthorised hunting and illegal possession of firearms.

On Friday morning, law enforcement conducted raids at 13 residences in Timiș County, in an operation coordinated by prosecutors. The objective: documenting facts of poaching, violations of legislation concerning weapons and ammunition, and the use of pistols or rifles without legal authorisation.
Among the suspected individuals, three hold positions or professions with special status: two of them are officers at the Police Station in the Ciacova locality, whilst the third practices the profession of dentist. Investigators are attempting to establish the extent to which these individuals participated in hunting parties prohibited by law and how they came into possession of the weapons used.
The searches targeted both the domiciles of the suspects and other properties where evidence material could have been hidden. Timiș police officers acted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office.
For the time being, no details have been made public regarding any seizures or measures taken against the three individuals. Investigations are continuing to establish whether there are other persons involved in the network.
