A 28-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, both from Sibiu County, have been taken to penitentiary after the court issued warrants to enforce sentences for the sale of prohibited substances, according to Sibiu 100.
Law enforcement identified the two individuals in the city of Sibiu on 23 June. They had final convictions for offences related to high-risk and very high-risk drugs.
Judges at Sibiu Tribunal decided to deprive both of their liberty. The man received 4 years in custody, while the woman was sentenced to 5 years.
After being found and detained, the two were taken to penitentiary, where they will serve their sentences.
The action is part of the authorities' efforts to enforce court decisions and combat the drug trafficking phenomenon.
