An 18-year-old young woman and two men aged 20 and 25 have been placed in pre-trial detention by Constanța Court in a case involving illegal trafficking in high-risk drugs. The measure was ordered on 16 June 2026, following a proposal put forward by prosecutors from DIICOT – Territorial Bureau in the city on the coast, according to reports from Radio Constanța.
The three are suspected of carrying out distribution activities involving the substance 3CMC, colloquially known as crystal. The investigation indicates that, between April and June 2026, the teenager obtained, retained and profited from quantities of this substance, both independently and together with a 19-year-old partner who managed to evade law enforcement.
Investigators established that in June 2026, the girl ordered approximately three kilograms of crystalline material from Poland, sent to Romania by a cross-border transport company. On 15 June, she was caught taking receipt of the package containing the narcotics together with the 20-year-old man, with the substances intended for subsequent sale.
Moreover, evidence shows that the 25-year-old individual served as a dealer and intermediary for marketing batches of 3CMC to the missing accomplice.
Law enforcement officers conducted raids at the suspects' homes, where they found and seized ecstasy tablets, a quantity of cannabis, a grinding device, objects contaminated with traces of the substance, a laptop computer, cash in national currency and other evidentiary items.
The judge is to decide as well on the request for imprisonment in absentia of the 19-year-old fugitive. The operation was supported by officers from BCCO Constanța and by units from the Mobile Group of Gendarmes from the same city.
All those under investigation enjoy the presumption of innocence throughout the proceedings.
